Septorhinoplasty Surgery

Improve breathing and function with specialist ENT care.

Septorhinoplasty is a specialist procedure that combines cosmetic nose reshaping with correction of a deviated nasal septum to improve both appearance and breathing. Whether you're looking to enhance the shape of your nose, relieve nasal obstruction or address both concerns in a single operation, septorhinoplasty can provide long-lasting functional and aesthetic benefits.

At Battersea Hospital, our experienced consultant plastic surgeons and ENT specialists perform personalised septorhinoplasty procedures using advanced surgical techniques to improve facial harmony while restoring healthy nasal function.

What is Septorhinoplasty?

Septorhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that combines rhinoplasty (nose reshaping) with septoplasty (straightening the nasal septum). It is performed to improve the appearance of the nose while also correcting structural problems that may be affecting your ability to breathe comfortably.

The nasal septum is the wall of cartilage and bone that separates the two nasal passages. If it is deviated or crooked, it can restrict airflow, leading to chronic nasal blockage, difficulty breathing, snoring or recurrent sinus problems.

Unlike cosmetic rhinoplasty alone, septorhinoplasty addresses both function and aesthetics. During the procedure, your surgeon straightens the septum to improve airflow while reshaping the external nose to achieve a more balanced and natural appearance.

Every septorhinoplasty is individually planned to preserve the structural integrity of the nose while delivering results that enhance both facial harmony and quality of life.

Appointments and Consultations

What is the difference between rhinoplasty and septorhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty improves the appearance of the nose, while septorhinoplasty combines cosmetic reshaping with correction of a deviated septum to improve breathing and nasal function.

For many patients, yes. By correcting a deviated septum and addressing structural issues within the nose, septorhinoplasty can significantly improve airflow and relieve chronic nasal obstruction.

Yes. Our consultant surgeons carefully plan every procedure to achieve subtle improvements that complement your facial features while maintaining a natural appearance.

Most patients return to work and normal daily activities within 10 to 14 days. Swelling continues to improve over several months, with strenuous exercise usually avoided for around six weeks.

Most septorhinoplasty procedures use internal incisions. If an open approach is required, the small incision across the columella is designed to heal discreetly and is usually barely noticeable once fully healed.

Septorhinoplasty provides permanent structural improvements to both the appearance and function of the nose. Once healing is complete, the results are intended to be long-lasting.

Although you'll notice changes immediately after surgery, swelling gradually settles over time. Most patients see significant improvement within a few months, with final results becoming fully visible between six and twelve months.

Yes. Septorhinoplasty is commonly performed to correct deformities caused by previous nasal injuries while also restoring proper nasal function where required.
