Fat transfer to the face, also known as facial fat grafting, is a cosmetic procedure that restores volume to areas of the face using purified fat harvested from another part of your body.
Small amounts of fat are usually removed through liposuction from the abdomen, thighs or flanks before being carefully processed and injected into areas that have lost volume. Common treatment areas include the cheeks, temples, under the eyes, jawline and around the mouth.
As we age, natural fat loss contributes to hollow cheeks, sunken temples and deeper facial folds. Facial fat transfer restores youthful fullness while maintaining a soft, natural appearance because it uses your own living tissue.
