BOOK A CONSULTATION MEET OUR SURGEONSBreast implant replacement or removal is a surgical procedure performed to exchange existing breast implants for new ones or to remove implants altogether. The procedure may be recommended for medical reasons, aesthetic preferences or lifestyle changes.
Some women choose to replace their implants because they wish to change their size or shape, while others decide to remove them after many years or because they no longer feel implants suit their lifestyle. In some cases, replacement or removal may be advised if an implant has ruptured, developed capsular contracture or shifted position.
Depending on your goals, your consultant surgeon may recommend replacing the implants with newer devices, removing them completely, or combining implant removal with procedures such as a breast lift to restore breast shape and position.
Every treatment plan is tailored to your individual anatomy, medical history and desired outcome, ensuring the best possible aesthetic and functional result.

Implants may be replaced due to ageing, changes in appearance, implant rupture, capsular contracture or because you wish to change their size or shape.
Not necessarily. Modern implants are designed to be long-lasting, but regular monitoring is recommended. Replacement is usually only necessary if a problem develops or your preferences change.
Yes. Many patients choose to have their implants removed permanently. Depending on your breast tissue and skin elasticity, your surgeon may also recommend a breast lift to achieve the best cosmetic result.
Capsular contracture occurs when scar tissue around the implant tightens, which may cause discomfort or change the shape of the breast. Surgery is often recommended to correct the condition.
Where possible, existing incision scars are used to minimise additional scarring. Your surgeon will discuss the incision approach during your consultation.
Most patients return to light daily activities within one to two weeks, although strenuous exercise should be avoided for approximately four to six weeks.
Yes. The appearance will depend on your natural breast tissue, skin elasticity and the size of your previous implants. A breast lift may be recommended to improve breast shape and contour.
While you'll notice changes immediately after surgery, swelling gradually settles over several months, with final results typically visible within three to six months.
