About Mr Chris Dunkin

Mr Chris Dunkin is a UK trained Consultant Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon, with more than 25 years of experience in Plastic Surgery and a specialist interest in cosmetic surgery of the face, nose, breast and body.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic Surgery FRCS(Plast), holds a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) for his research in Oxford and is on the GMC Specialist Register in Plastic Surgery.

He is full a member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) and British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS).

Extensive experience in cosmetic surgery

After training in the London and Australia, Chris was an NHS Consultant Plastic Surgeon for a decade, undertaking complex reconstructive surgery of the face, nose, breast and body, whilst building a successful private cosmetic surgery practice. Since 2020 he has focused purely on cosmetic surgery. He has performed over 2000 cosmetic surgery procedures.

Research and academic work

Mr Dunkin received the Duke of Kent Research Fellowship from the Stoke Mandeville Burns and Reconstructive Surgery Research Trust. He spent two years at the University of Oxford researching the biology of scarring and methods of scar prevention.

He has presented his research at scientific and surgical meetings in the UK, Europe, the United States and Australia. In 2008, he was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine by the University of London for his research into scarring and scar prevention.

His research awards include:

• Paton Masser Memorial Prize, British Association of Plastic Surgeons, 2005

His professional affiliations include the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons and the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons.
